1. Saying “Nice to meet you”

はじめまして (hajimemashite)

Nice to meet you.


2. Saying your name

わたしは Sergio です。 (watashi wa Sergio desu.)

I am Sergio.

わたしは Maria です。 (watashi wa Maria desu.)

I am Maria.


3. Saying where you’re from

メキシコから きました。 (mekishiko kara kimashita.)

I came from Mexico.

にほんから きました。 (nihon kara kimashita.)

I came from Japan.


4. Saying your occupation (simple N5 patterns)

わたしは がくせいです。 (watashi wa gakusei desu.)

I am a student.

わたしは せんせいです。 (watashi wa sensei desu.)

I am a teacher.


5. Saying “Please treat me well”

よろしくおねがいします (yoroshiku onegaishimasu)

This phrase has many meanings, but in self-introductions it means: “I look forward to working with you” or “Please treat me well.”

Nice to meet you.

わたしは Sergio です。 (watashi wa Sergio desu.)

I am Sergio.
